Pinot Gris' berries are much darker than most white grapes, reaching pink and purple hues. It is really early-budding and early-ripening, and provides reasonably lower acidity, which makes it most effective-suited to chill climates, which allow the resulting wines a degree of freshness. In addition it has naturally high sugar levels; some producers
